Great form, perfect extension.

Szymon Godziek’s mid-air stretch routine is next level.

Video of the Day

Jackson could be riding on a giant slip-n-slide, and we’d still be talking about how smooth he looks.

His bike handling is a masterpiece, and that money shot?

Well, let’s just say, we’ll be replaying it until the end of time.

⏰ Watch time - 1 min 51 sec

Bonus: The Firebird is here, and every other bike just got insecure.

Watch the marketing geniuses at Pivot Factory Racing take this bike from “meh” to “holy *%#@!” in seconds.

The cuts between speedy descents and technical climbs prove one thing:

The Firebird is like the superhero of the MTB world, only with more carbon and fewer capes.

Get ready to feel faster than you look!

This is the trippy MTB movie we didn’t know we needed. Can’t wait!

XC Racers Declare War on Three Rider Podiums: "Give Us Back Our Fives!"

The five-rider podium started as an anomaly but became an XC MTB tradition—by 2005, it was already a decade strong.

Mountain biking has never been about conformity.

We bomb down mountains, huck off cliffs, and wear knee pads as a fashion statement.

But Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) is out here trying to make us "normal."

Their latest crime?

Shrinking World Cup podiums from five riders to three.

Cue the outrage.

Over 120 top XC racers and 10 World Series teams have signed a statement demanding a return to five rider podiums in 2025.

Why? Because a Top 5 finish in mountain biking has always been podium worthy.

It’s the difference between being a celebrated hero and explaining to your sponsor why you’re "technically fourth."

Why Did World Cups Have a Five Rider Podium?

The first five rider podium at a mountain bike World Cup

Way back in 1994, Aussie junior Cadel Evans bonked on the last lap, dropping from third to fifth.

The organizers in Cairns figured, "Eh, let’s put him on the podium anyway."

Turns out, it looked pretty good. Boom five rider podiums were born.

It gave underdog stories a place to shine, helped smaller teams land sponsors, and, let’s be honest, made podium photos look way more stacked.

Fast forward 30 years and WBD is axing this piece of MTB history in favor of a "standard" three rider podium.

Because apparently, having more riders on stage is just too radical. But the racers aren’t having it.

XC Racers to WBD: "Stop Ignoring Us!"

The signed statement is full of spicy takes, calling out WBD for ignoring athletes, stripping MTB of its uniqueness, and worst of all, conforming.

If there’s one thing mountain bikers hate, it’s being told to fit in.

The riders are pissed, the teams are pissed, and even the podiums themselves might be shedding a tear.

"We have been ignored and left without a voice," the statement says, while Rebecca Henderson, UCI rider rep, warns that cutting podiums down to three will mean fewer sponsorships, struggling teams, and ultimately, a weaker sport.

What’s Next? A Rider Strike?

When asked if XC racers would stage a protest like last year’s Crankworx Rotorua rider strike, Henderson said, "We don’t want to punish our sponsors or fans."

So no riot yet.

But if WBD keeps ghosting the athletes, who knows?

Maybe we’ll see a podium mutiny where the 4th and 5th place finishers just climb up anyway.

Five is Greater Than Three

At the end of the day, nobody asked for this change except some suit at WBD who probably thinks a derailleur is a type of salad.

Five rider podiums are a part of MTB history and the athletes are making it clear.

They want them back.

So WBD, what’s it gonna be?

Listen to the athletes or risk turning the World Cup into just another cookie cutter sport?

Your move.
