Ray Fournier isnât here for sightseeing, heâs here to turn Guanajuatoâs historic streets into a high-speed blur of chaos.
Cobblestones, stair sets, and alley drops?
Just another day at Red Bull Cerro Abajo.
No staircase is safe!

No lifts, no crowds, just Andreu Lacondeguy, Nico Vink, and endless freeride lines in Chileâs untamed north.
This is freeride in its purest form, and honestly, we wouldnât have it any other way.
If itâs steep, loose, and terrifying, itâs fair game.

Red Bull Guanajuato Cerro Abajo 2025: Sector-by-Sector Breakdown of the Epic Race

PC: Alfred JĂŒrgen Westermeyer/Red Bull Content Pool
â
Another year, another insane round of the Red Bull Guanajuato Cerro Abajo.
And letâs just say, it was the most exciting thing those cobblestone streets have ever seen!
On March 29th, the worldâs best urban downhill riders hit the historic heart of Guanajuato Mexico for the final showdown of the 2025 Red Bull Cerro Abajo series.
And what did we get?
Epic sends, nail-biting moments, and a podium that was so close, you could almost hear the tire screeches echoing in your ears.
Hereâs how the results went down, sector by sector:
â
Sector 1 â The Early Surge
Sector 1 Results:
- Juanfer Velez: 30.043
- Sebastian Holguin: 30.341
- Jeronimo Paez: 30.615
- Edgar Carballo: 31.019
- Lucas Borba: 31.144

â
VĂ©lez? He made it look easy.
HolguĂn? Still fast, but that stair set was clearly a tiny bit much.
Paez, despite getting a little too cozy with those stairs, wasnât too far behind.
Itâs like the game of musical chairs, but everyoneâs on a bike and there are WAY more stairs.
â
Sector 2 â The Chase Begins
Sector 2 Results:
- Juanfer Velez: 23.164
- Sebastian Holguin: 23.305
- Douglas Vieira: 23.363
- Johannes Fischbach: 23.814
- Roger Vieira: 23.916
â

â
OK, now itâs really on.
VĂ©lez wasnât slowing down in Sector 2, clocking a quick 23.164 and continuing his reign at the top.
Sebastian Holguin, still clinging to second, posted 23.305, and Douglas Vieira was hot on his heels with a 23.363.
As they blazed through this sector, Johannes Fischbach (23.814) and Roger Vieira (23.916) made sure to remind everyone that they were still very much in the game.
â
Sector 3 â Full Throttle
Sector 3 Results:
- Juanfer VĂ©lez: 27.143
- Sebastian Holguin: 27.604
- Roger Vieira: 27.611
- Felipe Agurto: 27.667
- Johannes Fischbach: 27.686
â

â
Time to pull out the big guns.
By the time they hit Sector 3, VĂ©lez was still pulling away with a time of 27.143, looking like heâd just cracked open an energy drink and was ready to finish strong.
Sebastian Holguin (27.604) and Roger Vieira (27.611) werenât letting up, still hunting for an opening.
Meanwhile, Felipe Agurto (27.667) and Johannes Fischbach (27.686) were hanging on to their positions, hoping the other guys would trip over a root or something.
It was a high-speed, adrenaline-fueled race to the finish line.
Would anyone be able to catch up with the leader? Not yet.
Sector 4 to Finish â The Final Push
Sector 4 to Results:
- Johannes Fischbach: 26.883
- Roger Vieira: 26.899
- Juanfer VĂ©lez: 26.907
- Sebastian Holguin: 26.944
- Jeronimo Paez: 27.059
â

â
Hereâs where the real battle happened.
The final stretch was so close that you needed a microscope to see the difference between Johannes and Roger.
I mean, weâre talking 0.016 secondsâthatâs like a blink and a half.
VĂ©lez wasnât backing down either, throwing in some seriously fast lines.
The tension? You could cut it with a knife.
But Fischbach ended up just edging out Vieira by the slimmest of margins.
â
Final Results â In case you were too busy screaming at your screen:
â

â
- Juanfer VĂ©lez â 1:47.257
- SebastiĂĄn HolguĂn â 1:48.194 (+0.937)
- Roger Vieira â 1:49.853 (+2.596)
- Johannes Fischbach â 1:49.906 (+2.649)
- Jeronimo Paez â 1:50.310 (+3.053)
â
VĂ©lez claimed victory with barely a breath, HolguĂn put up one hell of a fight, and Roger Vieira?
Well, he definitely looked like he was trying to outrun time itself.

Trail of the Day
Crinkum Crankum, Mount Fromme - North Vancouver, British Columbia

â
Crinkum Crankum kicks off with a bunch of tight, techy switchbacks that'll have you questioning your life choices, followed by steep, slippery ramps that scream âsend it or bail!â
Luckily, Ol' Man Peteâs got your back with a bypass around the chaos.
Just turn right after the log ride, then left before the road, and youâll be gliding into the final descent of Kirkford, where you can pretend you know what you're doing.
Good luck!
