Atherton A.200.G Belt Drive Bike - The Send It Daily - 282

We're BACK with the MTB newsletter that's more addictive than post ride burritos. We've got a heater today with a massive send, race results, the Atherton's new belt drive bike (yep, no chains here), and so much more.

780 words of pure stoke.
Read time: 2 min 44 seconds.

Photo of the Day

New team, same blazing-fast Loris. With 10/10 speed, an 8/10 mustache (sorry Loris), and a level of focus sharp enough to cut through a Kenda casing, he’s looking unstoppable. Betting against him? Not recommended.

Video of the Day

Big news in the bike world: Loris Vergier is now rocking the Commencal logo, and—surprise, surprise—the announcement came with an edit (lucky us).

In typical Commencal fashion, the video features Loris sending it on his new rig like he's got a point to prove (spoiler: he doesn't—he’s already ridiculously fast).

Cape Town’s trails took a proper beating, and we can only assume that bike is now officially “broken in.”

Send of the Day

Heavy landing! This is when all those push ups pay off.

Race Results - New Zealand National DH Series 2025 Round 2 Coronet Peak - UCI Continental Series

PC: Bartek Wolinski

The 2025 New Zealand national series hit Coronet Peak this weekend, and Ronan Dunne snagged his first win of the season by a razor-thin 0.15 seconds over Lachlan Stevens-McNab. Tuhoto-Ariki Pene took third, but the clock wasn’t kind—nearly four seconds off the leaders. Meanwhile, junior Tyler Waite reminded everyone that age is just a number, posting the third-fastest time of the day overall in the U19 race.

In the Women's field, Jenna Hastings edged out Sacha Earnest for the Elite win, but it was U19 ripper Ellie Hulsebosch who stole the show. Ellie didn’t just top her category; she obliterated the Elite winning time by over two seconds. Moral of the story: Don’t race Ellie unless you enjoy second place.

With this round doubling as part of the new UCI Continental Series, the top five in Elite and U19 categories earned a golden ticket to a World Cup round. Check out the full results to see who’s booking flights and who’s rethinking their line choices.

Dream Rides ❤️

All the buzz right now is about the Atherton A.200.G—no, that’s not a secret government project, it’s their new belt-driven DH bike. Yep, they swapped the greasy chain for a Gates belt drive because apparently, the dream of zero maintenance and infinite steeze never dies.

For almost 20 years, as Dan Brown, Athy, Gee, Rach, and their mechanics traveled to World Cups, they dreamed about the “ultimate DH bike.” Turns out, that dream included a gearbox and a belt drive. Who knew all those conversations at après-race dinners about skipping gears and snapped chains would eventually lead to this?

Fast forward to 2024, and Gates Carbon Drive was like, “Hold my coffee,” and helped make it happen. Now we’ve got a bike that’s as quiet as Gee on a bad race day and probably just as deadly.

Hit play on the short documentary below to see how this revolutionary rig came to life—and maybe hear Dan Brown tell you why he’s been thinking about belts longer than most of us have been riding.

Got a bike that makes your friends drool? We wanna see it! Shoot us an email at editorial@thesenditdaily.com, and maybe your ride will be the next superstar.

Trail of the Day

Unemployment Line - Bellingham, WA

PC: Alex Moon

We’re heading to Bellingham, Washington, and the Galbraith trails have us stoked!

One standout is Unemployment Line, a jump-packed intermediate/advanced trail with over forty jumps, including doubles, booters, and tables. Its large berms and flowy design make it an exhilarating ride.

Newer riders can enjoy a smooth descent with rollable obstacles, while more advanced riders can push their speed and hit the doubles.

The bottom third was rebuilt in 2015, adding massive berms, rhythm sections, and two optional gaps. Can't wait to send it!
